11th hour book

Postby hummingbird on Wed Sep 17, 2008 4:08 pm

I was reading up on what this 11th hour project was about and it seems quite interesting.  Was there ever a book published?  Who heads these things up and are you thinking of doing another one?  I see the last one was done in September, 2007.

Just curious.

Kevin or Earl can answer this better than I, but as I understand it, there are some issues with getting an affordable publisher.  I believe most places require a minimum order (or have a tiered price structure based on number of books).  The books have to be priced low enough to be able to sell them, but have enough of a profit margin to be able to make a real charitable donation.

If you know anyone or have any experience it this sort of thing, I'm sure your ideas will be welcome.

No, I don't have experience or know of anyone at the moment in that area but I certainly will keep my eyes open.  I was interested in purchasing a book to help the cause if there were any left from previous prints.

Thanks for the info.

Hi, guys.  I sent some information about the book publisher I used to Kevin.  We'll see if it's feasible.

Great.  Hopefully it'll work out.

Just a quickie one... Out of the publisher's question, is there any layout of the book already done? Which pictures will be part of it? How will it be organized (By country, by timezone, etc)?

Let me know if I can be of any help on that! That's the kind of things I love to do :)

Redge

Redge,

To be totally honest, I had found a company based out of The Netherlands to do the books for us.And as a bonus, they were going to include a load of free 11th hour books, that we were going to give to the participants. Apparently the company had not been doing too well financially. I don't think that they are still in existence.
We did look at other companies. But, any suggestions that you have would be appreciated.

Hi Kevin,

It's been a long time in the making. Any progress on a book?

That is so funny. I just saw something on television the other night and the caption came up in big letters saying, "The 11th Hour" coming .....

It gave a date but I don't remember when or what channel. If I see it again I will find out what it is and post it here if it is of interest.

That 11th hour I believe is a TV show. I think I saw the previews for it.
